The Celebration of SAORI Exhibition was a joint venture between the Dyeing To Weave SAORI Studio and Gypsy Weaver Studios, bringing together weavers and their amazing work from right across Australia in a celebration of unique, freestyle weaving.
Sixteen incredible artists contributed woven pieces for this exhibition, pieces that have been drawn from the Soul, tapping into their innate creativity, their unique sense of style and beautiful woven goodness that can be produced in the SAORI freestyle way.
Some have been weaving for years…others are new to the craft, but each is passionate about creating gorgeous fabric.
An array of garments, scarves, wall hangings and soft furnishings were on display and many visitors enjoyed finding out what’s possible at the SAORI loom and with the SAORI philosophy! Many beautiful and unique pieces were purchased by happy new owners – excited that they had found an amazing one-of-a-kind piece that can be found nowhere else.
The exhibition was held at The Warehouse, a beautiful light-filled exhibition space located in the main street of the historic and charming township of Clunes in Central Victoria.
Over 50 people attended the Opening Night and perused these pieces packed with personality and chatted with the passionate artists that produced them. Throughout the exhibition, people came from across the state and all over Australia to visit this unique display of freestyle textile creation.
